Andhra Pradesh Media Federation

Andhra Pradesh Media Federation (APMF) is a premier Federation of Working Journalists representing Print and Electronic Media, News Agencies, Web-Media and Small and Medium Newspapers in Andhra Pradesh which is playing a vital role after bifurcation of the State and it has been established under the Trade Union Act to invigorate its activities to improve living and working conditions of the journalists in Navyandhra including new development of the State and strive to oversee the Welfare measurers of journalists with the cooperation and coordination of the senior journalists. It is the only organization created in order to solve the issues concerning journalists’ professional activities.

The APMF is the voice of journalists in Andhra Pradesh. It has shouldered the responsibility to support the State Government for the development of Navyandhra State and strengthen its activities as strong Federation to represent a broad range of media professionals. We strive to improve the pay and conditions of our members and protect and promote media freedom, professionalism and ethical standards. Most of the members are linked trade unionists. It is represented 13 Districts in Andhra Pradesh, Twin Cities and the around.

It is an aim to bring all media representatatives under one umbrella and exclusively to come together for the legitimate demands of Journalists of Electronic Media for the amendment of Working Journalists Act and include the electronic media for the betterment of working conditions and their welfare measures. Majority of the working journalists both in Print and Electronic Media joined with APMF to work together. To work together with the State Government for the welfare of the journalists we secured representation in commissions and committees appointed by the State Government. We conduct the affairs of the Federation on Trade Union basis.

The APMF is established to provide financial assistance to the journalists and their families who are in distress and rescue whenever they need help. We promote Pension Scheme for Journalists, welfare of the kids of journalists in education and medical assistance to their families.
